The official candidates of BJP and Congress have been declared and it will be third time that Mahender Singh incumbent MLA (BJP) will be challenged by Chander Shekhar (Congress).

Thakur Mahender Singh has been representing this constituency since 1990 and has been minister in twice. Chander Shekar though lost the 2012 election (also 2007) but he was appointed Vice Chairman of Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation (HPSHHC). He also got opportunity to be in Govt and serve the people.

Both of them had resources, power and opportunity but people will let who did better on 9th November 2017.

In 2007 it was a triangular contest with Natha Singh fighting as independent but in 2012 it was direct between both of them.

Congress is having incumbency factor in state but has already declared CM candidate and Chander Shekhar has good relations with Shri Virbhadra Singh. On the other hand though BJP has not declared CM but Modi wave is still live, Mahender Singh being senior leader if party form Govt will certainly get some key post. But who will win, only voters tell on 9th November 2017

We have not seen much development in the constituency and there had been growing anger in public. Many villages declared to boycott election, this may not actually happen.

Irrespective of vikas of Sandhole or Dharampur, the personal wealth of both continues to grow, see chart. This doesn’t include the wealth of spouse, notable Mrs Thakur owns a hotel Manali Valley and her total assets value is more than 9 crores.

Will it be 7th straight victory of Thakur Mahender Singh and improving his own previous record?

With the announcement of the Assembly poll date (November 9), the model code of conduct has come into force. The Assembly elections are being held simultaneously in the state for the fifth time and earlier the snow-bound tribal constituencies went to the polls, along with 65 other constituencies, in 1977, 1982, 1993, 2007 and 2012.

With this much awaited political activities kicked off and many aspirants have been knocking of the doors of leaders to get party ticket. There are many looking to contest this election for their respective parties and have been forwarding their candidature and work they have done in last five years for party and constituency.

Key names circulating in news are incumbent MLA and former minister Thakur Mahendra Singh, Chander Shekhar, Narender Attri, Rajender Mandhotra.

Let’s see who gets the blessing of party poll panel committees and gets official ticket. After winning the first battle, they have to go to public and get their blessing.

Tough times lie ahead for the political parties and candidates aspiring to fight the forth coming HP Vidhan Sabha election due in coming moths of 2017. After Beri and Sandhole Panchyant now Dattwar & Kachalli have also decided to boycott the election. The area has been neglected by all Govt. Dattwar & Kachalli villagers under banner Gram Sudhar Sabha Kachali handed over memorandum signed by 810 people of their decision to Tehsildar Sandhole and requested to be passed it to Chief Minister, District Election Commissioner. President Kashmir Singh and other leaders of Gram Sudhar Sabha Prakash Chand , Mansingh and Kuldeep Saklani appraised the Tehsildar the various issues being faced by people of Sandhole.

Sabha informed that a resolution in this regard would be passed in the General House of Gram Panchyat on 2nd Oct.

With State Assembly election due late this year, political parties and individual have sated gearing for this. Mr Rajender Mandhotra has expressed his desire to contest from Bharampur Constituency on BJP ticket. He has shared with desire with party leadership. Mr Mandhotra has been public / social service for more than 30 years and held various post in past, which include BJP Dharampur mandal president twice, Kisan Morcha district president once and Sandhole byapar mandal president for 30 years.
This to be noted that Dharampur is current represented by BJP candidate Thakur Mahender Singh.

जिला मंड़ी के संधोल क्षेत्र के लोगों ने मूलभूत सुविधाओं से वंचित होने के कारण आने वाले विधानसभा चुनावों का बहिष्कार करने का ऐलान किया है। संधोल पचांयत के लोगों ने विधानसभा चुनाव का बहिष्कार करने के लिए कृष्ण खरवाल के नेतृत्व में कमेटी गठित की है। इस कमेटी ने आज तहसीलदार संधोल के माध्यम से मुख्यमंत्री को मांग पत्र भेजा है। इससे पहले पंचायत बैरी के लोगो ने पंचायत प्रस्ताव पारित कर कुछ दिन पहले पंचायत की सड़क को पक्का न करने पर चुनाव बहिष्कार का एलान किया था। इसके बाद कौंठुवा पंचायत के चतरौण, बांह, सेड और मसौत वार्ड ने भी क्षेत्र की बदहाली पर चुनावों का बहिष्कार करने को मन बनाया है।
अब संधोल पंचायत ने भी हस्ताक्षर अभियान चलाकर आने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव का बहिष्कार करने का मन बना लिया है लगभग 467 लोगों ने हस्ताक्षर कर यह निर्णय लिया है। संधोल पंचायत के लोगों ने बताया कि संधोल तहसील धर्मपुर विधानसभा की एकमात्र तहसील थी जिसे दरकिनार कर बीजेपी और कांग्रेस के प्रतिनिधियों ने भेदभाव कर धर्मपुर में उप मंडल कार्यलय खोल दिया। वहीं, 27 पटवार सर्किल संधोल तहसील में थे लेकिन अब केवल 15 सर्किल ही रहे हैं।
संधोल बस अड्डे का कार्य कई वर्षों से अधूरा पडा है। वहीं, बिजली कट से निजात पाने के लिए संधोल को चुल्ला 132 केवी से जोड़ने की मांग की है। संधोल का डिग्री कॉलेज ,ITI,केंद्रिय विधालय संधोल के वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक स्कूल के परिसर में चल रहे हैं। इन संस्थानो को आज तक अपने भवन तक नसीब नहीं हो पा रहे हैं।
लोगों ने बताया की अस्पताल और तहसील को जोड़ने वाली सड़क सहित क्षेत्र की सभी सड़कें बदहाल और कच्ची हैं। इस क्षेत्र में राजनेताओं ने आज तक एक पुलिया का निर्माण तक नहीं करवाय़ा है।
यही कारण है की काफी समय से क्षेत्र के विकास से क्षुब्ध लोंगो ने नेताओं के पिठु बनने के बजाए, चुनावों का बहिष्कार करने का निर्णय लिया है। ग्रामीणों के इस फैंसले से आने वालों चुनावों में प्रत्याशियों के माथे पर बल पड़ने वाले हैं।
