Harsipattan Bridge Ready

The much awaited Harsipattan bridge over river Beas at Badaur Shahar connecting Sandhole to Kangra district is finally ready and will be open for the public next week. It took approx three decade to have this permanent connectivity between Mandi – Kangra. During those years there were many planning, strategies and foundations laying ceremonies but at last this is now complete. It will establish 24X7 round the year link. It will shorten the travel time to Palampur, Baijnath and Jaisinghpur.
This bridge will equally benefit the people living in the Harsi, Kathala, Jaisinghpur, Chadhiar and surrounding areas, as they can access the Sandhole.

The inauguration of bridge has been postponed due to illness of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal. Prof Dhumal had to be admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi last Saturday 4/6/11 for the treatment of a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). Now he has been discharged but has been advised rest for complete recovery and has moved to ‘Himachal Sadan’ – a state government rest house in Delhi. The new date would be announced accordingly. We wish him a speedy recovery and get well soon.
