2016 Holi Celebration – traditional values & modernisation impact

Holi festival of color which fall in Spring is celebrated all over India and world. In north it has a great importance and is eagerly awaited by people of all ages. Like most of Hindu festivals, Holi signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, meeting n greeting friends and forgiving n forgetting enemies.

In sandhole zaki depicting victory of good over evil was passed through main bazaar but sadly not many participate or show enthusiasm now.

The state level holi fair 2016 was inaugurated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh at Sujanpur this fair bear charm and attracts people from near and far places. The Chaugan known as shaun of Sunjanpur played a perfect host of Holi mela for many years.

But just look at the picture taken this year, it looks like a parking lot, losing its glory due to suffering from government apathy and encroachments on its all sides.
