Rs32 Poverty Line

Planning commission’s affidavit to the Supreme Court states that the poverty line for an urban person is Rs32 and rural it is Rs29 per person per day. In simple words if you are spending more than Rs32 per day then you are not poor. In current scenario where food prices are on its peak and there is no sign of inflation being in control, Govt’s claim is ridiculous – where can a person find 2 meals with amount, leave apart the healthy and nutrient diet. There are only two classes that spends less than Rs32 on food otherwise you don’t get anything in Rs32 not even 1 litre of milk.

First – who doesn’t have money and have to stay without food and second who gets free or subsidized food. Our honorable members of Parliament (MPs) fall in this category. They have the luxury of best food at dirt cheap rate. The rate list of parliament reads:

Fruit salad Rs7 Fruit cake Rs9.50 Kheer – one katori Rs5.50 Dosa Rs4 One plate rice Rs2 Chapati Rs1 a piece Butter chicken Rs27 Chicken masala Rs24.50 Chicken curry Rs20.50 Fish fry Rs17 Tomato rice Rs7 Rajma rice Rs7 Fish curry and rice Rs13 Chicken biryaniRs34 Veg pulao Rs8 Curd riceRs11 Non-veg thali Rs22 Veg thali (dal, subzi,4 chapatis, rice/pulao, curd and salad) Rs12.50 Dal – one katori Rs1.50 Soup Rs5.50 Tea Rs1

    KALTRI.SANDHOLE
A Prosperous Village from every nick and corner but least connected to health services.Because of less population , there is no source of medicine in the village .If elders are having any ageing problem ,they are not having any source other than traveling for 12-13 KM to nearest Sandhole town. The same with the newly born or other youngsters .It is observed that the eyesight ,Blood Pressure,Blood Glucose disorders are the common feature among the population of this village. If there will be part time arrangement of health worker, there can be fortnightly check up of blood pressure, blood glucose and eyesight. This will also benefit the patients who have admitted/treating themselves in big hospitals.Because it will be either costly affair for them to visit frequently to these hospitals for small routine check up / follow ups.It is purposed that in near future if any one of the qualified lady/girl will be trained for checking up the glucose level, measuring blood pressure and checking of eye sights, the health sector can not be neglected.
